Clarisse (my wife) and I went on a road trip in 2004 where we rode a whole lot of flat rides, wood (86), and steel roller coasters at a whole lot of parks (69) over the course of 3 and 1/2 months. The notes and photos we took from the trip (and future trips) are the material that this web site is being built around.
At this point, the operative word is "being built." While I hope to have something final for the spring 2005 season, this website is absolutely a work in progress. While I hate people that apologize and place up on the internet half-finished websites, I feel I'm a little different then that sorry group. There's lots of great information, photos, and trip reports here, and no broken links. It's just all the writing so far is in rough draft form, and what this website is going to become all about in the end is still... forming. When I began the site, I had a number of goals in mind: |

* offer a guide to different parks and coasters.
* a way to document our trip with photos and writing
* a journal to show how 2 people with no $$ can pull off a trip like this

Itinerary - A day by day breakdown of our trip in a calendar. I used this to help plan the trip and used it on the trip to quickly get directions, addresses, etc. Guestbook - Our guestbook, mostly signed while we were on our trip. Thanks to everyone that signed it, we checked it regularly and appreciated all the comments. Budget - A breakdown of our budget. The column to the left is my estimation and the column to the right is the actual as it happens. The budget is... kinda accurate. Come tax time you'll see a very accurate budget as I'll be actually doing the real number crunching. The trip, roughly, cost about $15,000. Journal - A place for me and Cla to write about whatever we want. For general trip stuff. About Us - Just letting you know who we are. Um... if you don't know us already, that is. Latest Parks - This link will show you what our latest entries have been concerning different individual parks. List of Parks - A list of all the parks we've written up so far with a sublist of what entries we've entered about them. Awards and Records - A list of awards and records from various organizations and websites. I use it for my own reference and am making it available so you can too. |
