Wild Adventures

Our Trip:

Wild Adventures is a very young park in a very out of the way spot that seems to be targetting people road-tripping on their way to Disney. With a decent collection of family roller coaster and family rides, the park is certainly worth a visit for anyone passing through. And with their 2001 wooden roller coaster addition of Cheetah, it has arrived on our list of parks to visit as well!

RIDES WE MUST RIDE

Cheetah - Top ranked in the one roller coaster poll that is the least known but may matter the most (Mitch Hawker's Wooden Coaster poll), Cheetah is a relatively recent CCI woodie that we're looking forward to riding... a lot.

Tasmanian River Rapids - A themed rapids ride that has a twist that I know Clarisse is going to love. Despite my general aversion to water rides, I'm really looking forward to this original creation.

Animals!!! - There are animals located all over the park. Clarisse is going to love this too.

Safari Train Adventure - A train ride past lots of different types of animals located in their safari including monkeys, antelope, zebras, giraffe, elephants, elk, and water buffalo.

Bugout - A wild mouse style roller coaster - from the official site - The Bug Out is a new “wild mouse” style roller coaster new for the 2000 season. Guests are loaded into four passenger cars, so they will experience an unencumbered ride guaranteed to thrill and excite. The cars turn individually on the track and all passenger get to ride as if they were in the lead car. There are a lot of dramatic turns and it’s a real rush for thrill seekers. The track disappears and there are 180-degree turns at 50 feet above the ground.

Boomerang - A Vekoma Boomerang - from the official site - Get ready to sling into excitement with the Boomerang roller coaster. This thrill ride, with its vertical loops, six inversions and two hills, is designed to take you on a 50-mph scream ride. The lift hill will pull the train backwards then watch out as it’s released. The train will trek through a loop and a boomerang element before it travels up a second hill coming to a halt high in the air. Then brace yourself again because it’s time to take the entire track in reverse. The Boomerang doesn’t give riders much of a chance to catch their breath and will give guests a wild good time.

Hangman - A Vekoma SLC - from the official site - The Hangman was installed new in 1999 and is the largest roller coaster in the park. It’s a seven inversion; 65 mph suspended looping roller coaster with a lot of getup and go. The Hangman will lift thrill seekers 120 feet into the air then take them on a 60 degree angle 10 story dive, within inches of the ground. The thrill ride gives the public a chance to experience the exhilarating feeling of a fast rollover, and a pretzel-like twist that turns the train upside down twice before connecting to a full 360-degree loop. It’s a feet dangling fun time.

RIDES WE MAY RIDE

Tiger Terror - A kiddie kinda ride that we may ride if it looks entertaining enough. Or not.

Aviator - Basically, we probably already rode this ride at Kings Dominion. So if we liked it there, we'll do it again here.

Double Shot - S&S Space Shots are great. If there's no line we'll definitely jump on this for multiple rides.
