Six Flags New England

11.24.04
Select Photo:

The carousel at Six Flags New England is quite pretty and a classic, but sadly is run like the sterile, corporate, anti-fun land that it is. READ MORE

Waterville

Here is another instance where I am sacrificing compositional perfection for straight up coverage. Not very often ridden or photographed Cannonball Run. However, there's a reason for that. It's not a very exceptional coaster. READ MORE

Visionland

11.13.04
Select Photo:

I normally only select photos that I think are good photos. I don't particularly like coaster sites with 50 million photos of coverage of a park just because. However, despite my not liking this photo particluarly, I'm putting it up here. Why? Because Rampage, pictured here, is one of the best wood coasters of our trip, and it deserves photographs here. Even if the photographs suck. READ MORE

Busch Gardens Tampa

More Gwazi. Considering I kind of thought of BGTampa as a dump, I find it ironic that this is clearly the park where we took some of my favorite photographs. Maybe we were just in a bad mood that day? READ MORE

Wonderland Amusement Park

11.11.04
Cut!:

Cla has already hand written, I believe, the rather tramautizing experience for her that was us missing Wonderland. For some reason, I wasn't anywhere near as upset by it as she was - but she was quite upset. I'll refrain... READ MORE

Wild Adventures

We cut this park to spend some extra days on South Beach in Miami. I can't say I regret it. The catch is, while I plan to pick up many of the parks we skipped in the coming season, I'm... READ MORE

Scandia Park

Like Pacific and Castle parks, this park was cut during our Los Angeles leg so we could get a day off, catch up a little, and save some much needed money. We're going to try to make it to all... READ MORE

Ocean City Area

Cut!:

We were supposed to do both Seaside Heights and Ocean City in one day. While this is entirely possible, we got a late start on Seaside Heights and were exhausted already from our first week going to parks non-stop. Another... READ MORE

Six Flags America

11.09.04
Select Photo:

This was a very tricky photo to figure out. Thanks to some confusion involving my iBook and iPhoto, photos for the parks in this region were hopelessly confused. Occasionally, like in this example, I have no clue what the photo is. I posted it on a coaster forum and had a response in 10 minutes that reasoned that it was Wild One in Maryland. I think it's a very solid guess, though it's tricky as the angle of the photo suggests a curved drop, which Wild One apparently does not have. However, looking more closely at the photo, the curved drop appears to be an optical illusion. Fun stuff. READ MORE

Two Face, an inverted boomerang, which was also closed on the day of our visit to this park. And, like Joker's Jinx, we subsequently discovered this is a great coaster after riding clones at two other parks. Too bad Six Flags America can't seem to keep their rides open.... READ MORE

Six Flags America

11.08.04

Joker's Jinx, like many of the rides and coasters at Six Flags America, was closed on the day of our visit with no explanation. This was a shame, as we rode the same type of ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas (called Poltergeist there) and loved it. READ MORE
